Coleman Management Advisors is hiring a marketing intern in Dallas. It is a paid, part-time role doing real marketing for a real firm: the content calendar, the social accounts, the newsletter and the outreach campaigns that decide whether the right business owner ever hears about us. Your work goes public from the first week.
If you want a marketing internship where you run things rather than watch them, keep reading. The full job description and application are on our careers page.
What the marketing internship in Dallas involves
CMA is a Dallas operating partner for owner-led businesses. We help founders build business plans, raise capital, run operations and grow, and we publish a lot of what we learn: case studies, field guides and a journal. The marketing intern turns that material into a steady, organic presence people actually follow.
In practice, the week looks like this:
- Run the content calendar across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and the email newsletter.
- Create original content. Shoot photos and short video, write posts, and turn our case studies and guides into carousels and emails.
- Run outreach campaigns to business owners and partners, and log every touch so nothing drops.
- Keep our Google Business Profile current and help collect reviews from clients.
- Build relationships in Dallas, from community events to partner introductions.
- Report every week on what ran, what it reached and what to change next.
You work directly with the founder, Dallas Coleman, and alongside our Head of Sales, so you see how marketing connects to the conversations it starts.
Real, organic marketing only
This is the part that matters most to us. We want real, organic marketing and social media, and we will not publish AI-generated content.
AI tools are fine for what they are good at: brainstorming, research and first drafts. But the finished photos, video and copy that go out under the CMA name have to be original. The same goes for your application. AI-generated work samples will not be considered.
If you are the kind of marketer who would rather take a real photo of a real office than generate one, you will fit here.
What we look for
We need to see experience, not a number of years:
- Real, hands-on marketing experience. Content, social accounts or campaigns you ran for a business, a client, a school organization or a project of your own.
- Work you can show us. A portfolio or samples that prove you can do this role.
- Clean writing. Fluent spoken and written English, strong grammar, and copy you can edit yourself.
- Platform fluency. You use LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook as a professional, not only as a user.
- Basic design sense, enough to make a clean graphic in Canva or a similar tool.
- Reliability. You hit deadlines without being chased.
Studying marketing, communications or journalism helps. So do photography or video skills, experience marketing a professional-services firm, and Spanish, since we serve clients in both languages.
Pay, hours and location
- Pay: $15 an hour, as an independent contractor on a 1099.
- Hours: about 10 to 20 a week, scheduled by you around the week’s deliverables.
- Location: Dallas-Fort Worth preferred, working from our downtown Dallas office at 1910 Pacific Avenue at least twice a week. Strong remote candidates in the U.S. are considered.
- Path to full time: interns who perform strongly may be considered for a full-time role when one opens. It is earned, not promised.
Why intern at a small consulting firm
At a large agency, an intern’s post goes through four approvals and may never ship. Here, a good idea on Monday can be live by Wednesday, and you will see exactly what it did. You will learn how a consulting firm finds clients, how go-to-market strategy works in practice, and what a fractional CMO does for the businesses we serve, because you will be doing a version of it for us.
How to apply
Applying takes about ten minutes on our careers page. You will choose the role, tell us where your experience comes from, and show us you can do the job. Include a resume or your LinkedIn profile and at least one work sample or portfolio link. We read every application, and if it looks like a fit, the next step is a short intro call on Microsoft Teams. Apply only through that form. Applications sent by email, through the booking link, or by phone call will be ignored and discarded.
Not sure whether marketing or sales suits you better? The careers page has a four-question quiz. We are also hiring a sales intern.
Questions owners ask
Is the CMA marketing internship paid?
Yes. The marketing internship pays $15 an hour. It is a part-time independent-contractor role, paid on a 1099, so there are no employee benefits and you handle your own taxes.
Do I need marketing experience to apply?
Yes, but there is no minimum number of years. You need real, hands-on marketing experience, from a job, an internship, freelance or client work, or a project of your own, and work samples or a portfolio that show you can do the role.
Can I use AI tools in the marketing internship?
For ideas, research and first drafts, yes. The finished photos, video and copy you publish must be original, and AI-generated work samples will not be considered when you apply.
Is the marketing internship in person or remote?
We prefer candidates in the Dallas-Fort Worth area who can work from our office at 1910 Pacific Avenue in downtown Dallas at least twice a week. Remote candidates in the U.S. with stronger backgrounds are considered.
Can the marketing internship turn into a full-time job?
It can. Interns who perform strongly may be considered for a full-time role when one opens. It is not guaranteed, and any full-time role would be a separate offer.
