Careers Do real work for real businesses, from week one.
CMA is a Dallas operating partner for owner-led businesses. We are adding two experienced part-time interns, one in marketing at $15 an hour and one in sales at a $10 to $15 base plus uncapped commission, with a path to a full-time role for strong performers.
Why CMA
A small firm, so your work shows
Real client work
Your posts go live and your conversations reach real business owners. Nothing you do here is a practice exercise.
Learn from the people doing it
You work directly with the founder and the Head of Sales, not three layers away from the decisions.
Downtown Dallas, flexible hours
Part-time hours you schedule yourself, with two or more days in our office at 1910 Pacific. Sales is out meeting owners in person. Remote applications are considered for the right candidate.
A path to full time
Interns who perform strongly may be considered for a full-time role as the firm grows. It is earned, not promised.
Open Roles
Two internships, both part-time

FAQ
Questions about working with CMA
What does "independent contractor" mean for these roles?
You are not an employee. You agree on weekly outcomes with the team and decide when and where you do the work, using your own equipment. You are paid as a contractor on a 1099, handle your own taxes, and there are no employee benefits. CMA provides the accounts you need for Microsoft 365, Teams and the client portal.
Do I need experience?
Yes, but there is no minimum number of years. We need to see real experience in the field, from a job, an internship, freelance or client work, or a project of your own, and you need to show you can do this role. Marketing applicants do that with a portfolio or work samples. Sales applicants do it by walking us through who they contacted, how, and what came of it. Students are welcome.
Can I use AI tools in the marketing role?
For ideas, research and first drafts, yes. The finished content cannot be AI-generated. We want real, organic marketing and social media: original photos, video and writing. The same goes for your application, where AI-generated work samples will not be considered.
Can this become a full-time job?
It can. Interns who perform strongly may be considered for a full-time role with CMA when one opens. It is not guaranteed; any full-time role would be a separate offer with its own terms.
What does it pay?
Marketing pays $15 an hour. Sales pays a base of $10 to $15 an hour, set by experience, plus uncapped commission on the business you bring in; commission terms are set in the written contractor agreement. Both are paid as an independent contractor on a 1099.
Do I need to be in Dallas?
We prefer candidates in Dallas-Fort Worth who can work from our office at 1910 Pacific Avenue downtown at least twice a week, but we take remote applications for both roles and will hire the right candidate elsewhere in the U.S. Sales is in person either way: a remote sales intern meets business owners face to face in their own local market.
How many hours a week is it?
Plan on about 15 to 20 hours a week for sales and about 10 to 20 for marketing. As a contractor you schedule those hours yourself around the week’s deliverables, so the role can fit around classes or other work.
Can I apply for both roles?
Yes. Choose "Either role" on the application and tell us which way you lean. We will talk it through on the intro call.
What happens after I apply?
We read every application. If it looks like a fit, we will email you to set up a short intro call on Microsoft Teams, then a final conversation with Dallas Coleman, the founder.
