Careers · Marketing Marketing Intern

Run the outreach and campaigns that decide whether the right owner ever hears about CMA.

About the role

You will own the week-to-week marketing engine of a small consulting firm: the content calendar, the posts, the newsletter and the outreach campaigns. The work is real and public from the first week, and you learn by doing it alongside the founder, not by watching.

What you will do

  • Plan and run the content calendar across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and the email newsletter
  • Create original photos, short video and copy, and turn CMA case studies, field guides and blog posts into posts, carousels and emails
  • Run outreach campaigns to business owners and partners, and log every touch so nothing drops
  • Keep the Google Business Profile current and help collect client reviews
  • Coordinate community and partner relationships in Dallas, including events and introductions
  • Report each week on what ran, what it reached, and what to change next

Requirements

  • Fluent spoken and written English, with strong grammar, spelling and punctuation
  • Clear, professional communication by email, phone and video call
  • Organized and dependable: you meet deadlines without being chased
  • Your own laptop and reliable high-speed internet
  • At least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States
  • Able to work as an independent contractor and provide a W-9
  • Real, hands-on marketing experience: content, social accounts or campaigns you ran for a business, a client, a school organization or a project of your own. There is no minimum number of years.
  • Work samples or a portfolio that show you can do this role. AI-generated content will not be considered: the images, video and copy you submit must be your own original work
  • Real, organic marketing and social media campaigns. AI tools can help with ideas and drafts, but the finished photos, video and copy you publish for CMA must be original, not AI-generated
  • Writes clean, persuasive copy and can edit their own work
  • Comfortable on LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook as a professional, not only as a user
  • Basic design sense; able to make a clean graphic in Canva or a similar tool

Nice to have

  • Studying or holding a degree in marketing, communications, journalism or business
  • Experience marketing a professional-services or B2B firm
  • Familiar with basic analytics such as LinkedIn or Google Analytics reports
  • Photography or short-form video skills
  • Spanish; CMA serves clients in Spanish and English

A path to full time

Interns who perform strongly may be considered for a full-time role with CMA when one opens. It is not guaranteed; any full-time role would be a separate offer with its own terms.

A good first month

  1. Week 1. A four-week content calendar, drafted and approved
  2. Week 2. Posts publishing on schedule across the channels
  3. Week 3. One outreach campaign designed, launched and tracked
  4. Week 4. Your first weekly report on what worked
