Pitch Decks · Dallas
Execute-first, right here in Dallas
Capital in Dallas skews toward operators and family offices rather than pure venture, and that audience reads a deck differently. They want the unit economics early, a credible path to cash generation, and a founder who can answer the awkward slide without deferring to an appendix. Decks built for a Sand Hill Road audience tend to land flat here.
A common brief in Dallas is a founder who has raised informally from people who know them and now needs to approach investors who do not. That is a genuine shift in what the deck has to do: it can no longer assume trust, so it has to earn it slide by slide with evidence rather than relationship.
Founders here frequently over-index on market size, on the theory that a large number is persuasive. It is not, to this audience. An operator who has run a business reads a top-down market figure as a signal that the harder work has not been done, and moves straight to the slide about how you actually acquire a customer and what that costs.
The decks that work are built from the bottom: a defined buyer, a repeatable way to reach them, a cost to do it, and a margin that survives the process. The market slide then supports the story instead of substituting for it.
A design studio will make a better-looking deck than we will. What they will not do is rebuild the model underneath it when the numbers do not survive a question. If your figures are already solid and you need the deck to look the part, hire the studio.
CMA is headquartered in downtown Dallas, so engagements here include in-person working sessions and on-site work across the metroplex — no travel math, no distance.

The Dallas Room
Who reads a deck in Dallas, and what they look for
The same deck is read differently depending on who is across the table. These are the readers a Dallas founder most often meets, and the slide each one turns to first.
Operators investing their own money
People who have run a business read the unit economics before the vision. They want to know what one customer costs to win and what that customer is worth, and they notice quickly when the answer is missing.
Family offices
Patient capital with a long memory. The questions are about durability: how the business generates cash, what protects the margin, and who runs it if the founder steps back.
Angel groups and early-stage funds
A structured process with many decks in it. Clarity wins the first read: a problem stated plainly, evidence of demand, and an ask sized to a milestone someone else can check.
Banks and SBA lenders
A lender does not fund a deck. If debt is part of the raise, the lender will ask for the written plan and the model, which is why we build the deck and the plan from one set of numbers.
CMA builds the materials for a raise. We are a consulting firm, not a broker-dealer or placement agent, and we do not raise capital on your behalf.

FAQ
Pitch Decks in Dallas — questions
Do you work with businesses in Dallas?
Yes. CMA is headquartered in downtown Dallas, so engagements here include in-person working sessions and on-site work across the metroplex — no travel math, no distance. Pitch Decks for Dallas clients runs to the same fixed-scope, fixed-price standard as everywhere CMA works.
How does a Dallas engagement start?
With a 30-minute intro call: your situation, an exact scope, and a fixed price in writing — no obligation. From there the work begins, with deliverables and a timeline you can hold us to.
How much does a pitch deck cost in Dallas?
CMA publishes two tiers: $3,000 for a first raise deck and $5,000 for an investor-grade deck built for institutional investors. A deck added to a business plan engagement is priced below standalone, and the exact figure is stated on the intro call. There is no Dallas markup.
Do you work on site in Dallas, or remotely?
Both, and the choice is made by the work rather than the postcode. Dallas sits inside our standing on-site territory, so in-person working sessions and floor-level work carry no travel premium. Document-driven work — plans, decks, research, models — runs just as well on a remote working-session cadence.
Do I need a business plan as well, or is the deck enough?
It depends on who is reading. Most equity investors want the deck first and the detail on request, so a deck plus a model is often enough. Lenders and the SBA want the written plan. If you are approaching both, the two are built from one set of numbers so they cannot contradict each other.
How many slides should a pitch deck have?
About eleven. Our handbook lays them out: the hook, the problem, the solution, why now, market size, the model, traction, competition, the team, the financials, and the ask. Fewer is fine if the story holds. Investors reward restraint.
Do you design the slides or only write them?
Both. The deck is written and designed as one piece of work, and every number on it is drawn from a financial model rather than typed onto a slide. If your figures are already solid and you only need the deck to look the part, a design studio is the better hire, and we will say so.
Will you introduce us to investors?
No. CMA builds the materials and prepares you for the questions they will draw. We are a consulting firm, not a broker-dealer or placement agent, and we do not raise capital on your behalf.
Can we work on the deck in person?
Yes. Our office is at 1910 Pacific Avenue in downtown Dallas, and working sessions there or at your office are a normal part of a Dallas engagement. Rehearsing the pitch in a room is usually where the weak slide shows itself.
