Tailr
tailrstylist.com · AI personal styling app
“We do not train models on your closet, your photos, or your chat — every provider is contractually prohibited from doing so.”
Tailr is a full consumer product — not a brochure. It generates complete, shoppable outfits built around your body, taste, and the clothes you already own. CMA built all of it: the brand and identity, the marketing site, and the AI product experience, end to end.

The Problem
Styling advice comes in two forms and neither works for most people: a human stylist priced out of reach, or a feed of products that knows nothing about your body, your taste, or the clothes already hanging in your wardrobe. Tailr had to be an actual product rather than a recommendation engine bolted onto a catalogue.
How It Works
Start to finish.
- 01
Build your Style DNA
A 14-step wizard captures body type, aesthetic, brands, and lifestyle — about five minutes, free.
- 02
Add your closet
Photograph the pieces you own, or skip it — the system learns your wardrobe either way.
- 03
Generate complete looks
Name the occasion and get a head-to-toe outfit in about ten seconds.
- 04
Shop only what’s missing
Buy the gaps from a curated catalog of 1,000+ brand partners — or wear what you already own.
Inside The Product
Outfit Studio
Name the occasion and get a head-to-toe look in about ten seconds — proportions, palette, fit notes, and the reason it works on you, rather than a grid of products.
Style DNA
A 14-step profile of body, taste, brands and lifestyle, built in about five minutes. It is the reason the second outfit is better than the first.
Closet-aware styling
Photograph what you already own and the system styles around it, so the answer is often “wear these three together” instead of “buy something”.
Trip Mode
A coherent five-to-seven-outfit capsule for a destination and its forecast — the packing decided before the bag is open.
Virtual try-on
See a garment on your own photo before buying it. One a week on the free tier, ten a week on Pro.
Your data is not training data
No model is trained on your closet, your photos, or your chat, and every provider is contractually prohibited from doing so. For a styling app this is the first thing to get right, not the last.
Screens

Under The Hood
How it’s built.
The decisions that are load-bearing — the ones that decide whether this still works in three years, and the reason each was made.
- 01 One profile, every surface
- Style DNA is the single source Outfit Studio, Trip Mode and Ask Tailr all read from, which is why the second outfit is better than the first instead of each surface starting cold.
- 02 Matched, not invented
- Looks resolve to real in-stock products across 1,000+ brand partners. A stylist that hallucinates a garment you cannot buy is worse than no stylist.
- 03 Vision over the closet
- Uploaded wardrobe photos are parsed into garments the stylist can compose with, so "wear these three together" is an available answer.
- 04 A purchase, not a subscription
- Pro is a single Stripe payment, so entitlement is a durable flag rather than a subscription state machine with dunning, proration and churn to maintain.
- 05 Provider terms as an architecture decision
- The no-training guarantee is contractual at every model provider, not a setting in a dashboard. For a product built on photographs of someone’s body and wardrobe, that has to hold at the boundary.
What Changed
Before, and after.
Before
A feed of products with no idea what is already in your wardrobe.
After
Outfits built around what you own, with only the genuine gaps to buy.
Before
Styling priced like a personal stylist — out of reach for most people.
After
A free tier that works on its own, and a one-time $19 unlock instead of a subscription.
Before
"It looks good on the model" — and nothing about your body.
After
A 14-step Style DNA profile the recommendations are actually built from.
Before
AI products that quietly train on whatever you upload.
After
No model trained on your closet, photos or chat — contractually, at every provider.
