Website Services · Online stores & omnichannel retail
A store that turns browsers into buyers.
Traffic is rarely the problem. The path from a product page to a confirmed order is. We build fast, mobile-first storefronts where checkout gets out of the way, trust is obvious, and every drop-off is something you can see and fix — not guess at.
The Outcome
What a CMA-built site actually does
Not a prettier brochure — a site accountable to a number: the leads, bookings, and inquiries you can measure.
More of the traffic you already pay for checks out
We rebuild the browse-to-buy path around how shoppers actually decide, so the same visitors and the same ad spend produce more completed orders instead of abandoned carts.
A storefront that loads before shoppers leave
Pages render fast on a mid-range phone over cellular — the real conditions most of your buyers are on — because a store that stalls is a store that gets closed.
You can see exactly where orders die
Analytics and conversion tracking are wired into every step of the funnel, so add-to-cart, checkout, and payment drop-offs show up as numbers you can act on instead of hunches.
How we work
Here’s what we’d build — accountable to a number, not a mood board
We won’t sell you a redesign and call a nicer look a result. What follows is exactly what we’d build for a site like yours, and how we’d prove it’s working. We baseline your current site’s numbers first, build around the way your customers actually find and choose you, and measure the new site against that starting point — no invented lift.
Who it’s for: For online stores and omnichannel retailers doing real volume — DTC brands, multi-SKU catalogs, and shops that also sell in person — where a single point of conversion is meaningful money and the site is the register, not a brochure.
The Core Build
The four builds that move a store
Most storefront problems trace back to four systems. Fix these and the whole catalog benefits. We build them in the order that protects revenue first, then work outward.
Product & collection pages
Pages built to answer the buying question
The problem: Product pages that read like a spec sheet and collection pages that dump two hundred items with no way to narrow them. Shoppers cannot tell why this item, at this price, is right for them — so they leave to go compare.
What we’d build: We rebuild product and collection pages around the decision: clear hero imagery, the few things that actually drive the purchase up top, honest sizing and shipping, reviews in view, and filtering that gets a shopper to the right SKU in seconds.
Mobile checkout
A checkout that gets out of the way
The problem: Most of your traffic is on a phone, and that is where carts die — surprise costs at the last step, a form that fights thumbs, forced account creation, and a payment step that reloads and loses the order.
What we’d build: We streamline checkout for the phone: guest checkout, express and wallet payments, address autofill, costs shown early, and the fewest fields that still capture what fulfillment needs. Fewer taps, fewer reasons to bail.
Speed & performance
Fast on a real phone, not just your laptop
The problem: Heavy themes, unoptimized images, and a stack of third-party apps push load times past the point where shoppers wait. Every extra second is orders you paid to acquire and then lost at the door.
What we’d build: We cut the weight — right-sized images, lazy loading, trimmed apps and scripts, and a build tuned for Core Web Vitals — so pages are usable fast on mid-range phones over cellular, the condition most of your buyers are in.
Trust & conversion-rate optimization
Reasons to buy now, tested not guessed
The problem: First-time visitors do not know you. Without visible proof — reviews, guarantees, real shipping and return terms, secure-checkout signals — they hesitate, and hesitation on a phone means a closed tab.
What we’d build: We place trust where doubt happens and set up a test loop: reviews and ratings, clear returns and guarantees, security cues at checkout, and A/B testing on the pages that matter, so improvements are proven against orders, not opinions.
More We Build
Past the core build
Once the browse-to-buy path holds, these are the projects that lift average order value, bring shoppers back, and tie the site to the rest of how you sell.
On-site search & filtering
Shoppers who search convert at a far higher rate — when search works. We tune search, synonyms, and faceted filters so a shopper who knows what they want finds it before they get frustrated and leave.
Cart recovery & email capture
We wire up abandoned-cart flows, back-in-stock alerts, and a first-order capture worth an email address, so the shoppers who were not ready today come back through a channel you own rather than a channel you rent.
Reviews & customer content
We build review collection and display into the product page — photos, ratings, and questions — because the most persuasive thing on a product page is another customer, not your own copy.
Shipping & returns clarity
Surprise shipping is the top reason carts die. We surface costs, timelines, free-shipping thresholds, and return terms early and everywhere, so checkout holds no unpleasant surprises.
Sales events & landing pages
For launches, Black Friday, and promotions we build fast, focused landing and collection pages that hold up under a traffic spike and a paid campaign, so peak days convert instead of crashing.
Omnichannel & buy-online-pickup
For retailers with a floor, we connect store inventory, pickup, and a store locator, so the site sells whether the shopper wants it shipped or wants it in their hands today.
Subscriptions & replenishment
For consumables, we add subscribe-and-save and one-tap reorder, turning one-time buyers into recurring revenue you can forecast instead of chasing every month.
The Numbers We Move
The numbers a site should move
A site is only worth what it produces. We set a starting number and measure the build against it.
Conversion rate
The share of sessions that end in an order — the single number the whole build is pointed at.
Add-to-cart rate
How well product and collection pages turn interest into intent, before checkout even enters the picture.
Checkout completion
The share of started checkouts that finish — where mobile friction and surprise costs do their damage.
Average order value
What each order is worth, moved by cross-sell, thresholds, and bundles built into the path.
Largest Contentful Paint
How fast the main content loads on a phone — the speed metric most tied to whether shoppers stay.
Return on ad spend
What your paid traffic earns once it lands — a fast, converting store lifts the return on every campaign feeding it.
A typical first engagement takes one of three shapes: a full storefront rebuild for a brand that has outgrown a slow, dated theme; a checkout-and-speed intervention for a store with healthy traffic but a leaking funnel; or a conversion-rate program that rebuilds the top-selling collection and product templates and stands up the testing loop. Each starts by instrumenting the funnel, so we fix what the numbers point to rather than what looks worst.
The Engagement
Built to convert, run so it keeps converting
A site scoped to a goal, not a template — strategy, design, build, and conversion optimization for the way your customers actually decide. We build it and, if you want, keep it running: hosting, security, and updates handled.
Accountable to a number. We baseline the current site and measure the new one against it. If a page isn’t converting, we say so and change it — a site is a lever, not a launch-and-forget.
Every business converts differently. The scoping call is where we pin the number your site should move.
How It Works
From baseline to a site that pays its way
-
Baseline & strategy
We measure your current site’s traffic and conversion, map how your customers choose, and set the number the new site has to move.
-
Design for conversion
Design built around the path to inquiry — structure, proof, and clear calls-to-action first; aesthetics in service of the goal.
-
Build & integrate
A fast, mobile-first build wired to your booking, lead-capture, or ordering tools — not a template you have to fight.
-
Launch & measure
We launch, wire up analytics, and watch the real numbers against the baseline we set together.
-
Run & optimize
Optional ongoing hosting, maintenance, and conversion tuning — the site keeps earning, not just existing.
FAQ
E-commerce & Retail — website questions
Should we be on Shopify, or something custom?
For most retailers, Shopify — it is fast to run, well-supported, and your team can operate it without us. We reach for a headless or custom build only when catalog size, traffic, or a specific integration makes the platform the bottleneck. We will tell you honestly which side of that line you are on.
Can you improve our store without a full rebuild?
Often, yes. If the bones are sound, we win a lot by fixing checkout, speed, and the top product pages — the places most orders are lost. We start by measuring the funnel so the budget goes where the money actually leaks, not into a rebuild you may not need.
We are on a slow theme with a dozen apps. What happens to those?
We audit every app and script for what it costs in load time versus what it earns. Anything that is dead weight comes off; anything essential we keep but optimize. Fewer, faster-loading apps almost always beats a store carrying a decade of installs.
How do you measure whether the work paid off?
Against orders. Before we touch anything, we baseline conversion rate, checkout completion, and page speed. After, we watch the same numbers and run A/B tests on major changes, so lifts are attributable to the work and not to a good week.
Will a redesign hurt our Google rankings?
Not if it is done carefully. We preserve URLs or map redirects, keep product and category content indexable, and the speed gains usually help rankings rather than hurt them. Losing traffic to a migration is an avoidable mistake, and we plan around it from the start.
Can you migrate us from another platform without losing orders or data?
Yes. We move products, customers, and order history, set up redirects from the old URLs, and stage the cutover so the storefront never goes dark. Migrations are routine when planned; the damage comes from rushing them.
Do you handle hosting and upkeep after launch, or hand it off?
Your call. We offer ongoing care — hosting, maintenance, SEO, and a continuous testing program — or we hand you a clean, documented store your team runs alone. The build is yours either way; we do not hold it hostage.
How long until it is live?
A focused checkout-and-speed fix can land in weeks; a full storefront rebuild runs longer depending on catalog size and integrations. We scope it against your calendar — nobody wants a relaunch landing the week before their biggest sale.
